2009: Kahororo Village, Uvira district a 3-day training program for 60 Traditional midwives. 2,000 birth kits supplied
2010: Luvungi/Ruzizi Valley and Bafuliru Mountains 3-day training program for 100 traditional midwives.
2011: 3-day training program for 100 TBAs in Buheba village 2,000 kits locally made.
2012: 3-day traditional midwifery training program for 100 traditional midwives with the pygmy communities of Mutano village, Bukumu location, Nyiragongo District, Kibati Division in the North Kivu province, with 2,000 kits locally made.
2013: Lemera 3-day traditional midwifery training program for 100 traditional midwives with the pygmy communities of Uvira, Fizi and Walungu in South Kivu Province, Uvira, with 2,000 kits locally made.
2013: 3-day traditional midwifery training program for 100 traditional midwives with the pygmy communities of Mulenge region in South Kivu Province, Uvira, with 2,000 kits locally made.
2015: Train the trainer program for 18 Midwifery Seminar Teachers to be trained.
Afar Pastoralists Development Association (APDA)
2010: 15-day training program requested for 40 TBAs Traditional Birth Attendants in Dagaba and Daaba districts of Dubte Woreda in the Afar Region by APDA with 3,360 birthing kits all locally sourced and made in-country.
2012: Refresher training for 40 TBAs in the Afar Region.
2014: Refresher training for 10 WEW and 40 TBAs in Dullassa Woreda over a 12 month program.
Centre for Social Action Women’s Education and Development (SAWED)
2010: SAWED ran a 2 day training program in the Lower Palani Hills located in Tamilnadu state in India for 200 Birth Attendants.
2012: SAWED provided a two day training program in 25 villages, with a total of 200 traditional birth attendants, including tribal and Dalit women, and village health volunteers in Theni and Dindigul Districts of Tamilnadu. This project successfully built on the pilot project which was completed in 2010 in other villages in this region.
2014: Training in updates to existing Tribal/Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) and training for young women from the Tribal and Dalit communities who want to become TBAs in the future.
The Society for Women’s Education and Awareness Development (SWEAD)
2011: SWEAD provides a 5-day Awareness and Training program for 200 midwives and volunteers in 100 villages of Cuddalore district in Tamilnadu, South India.
2012: For the second time SWEAD is ran five day training program educating 250 midwives and volunteer birth attendants from 125 villages in the Cuddalore district in Tamilnadu, South India. They combined this training with a one day education program for the husbands, guardians, and volunteers related to the 250 attendees to create a better understanding of prenatal, neonatal, and maternal health. Two staff nurses were employed for 12 months to monitor the effectiveness of the training, collect data, and support the trainees.
2013: Due to the success of the previous two training programs BKFA supported SWEAD by continuing funding the provision of an Integrated Health and Skills training program for 350 rural TBA’s/Volunteers and Husbands/Caretakers of 175 villages of Chidambaram, Kattumannarkoil and Viruthachalam Taluks of Cuddalore district of Tamilnadu.
2014: Skills and awareness training for 250 TBA’s/volunteers, 250 husbands/caretakers and 250 adolescent girls of 125 villages of Pantruti, Kurinjipady, Cuddalore and Thittakudi Taluks of Cuddalore district, Tamilnadu.

2009: 5-day training program for 80 Maasai Mara Traditional Birth Attendants was run.
2012: 5-day traditional midwifery training program for 80 traditional midwives with the Maasai Mara communities of the Rift Valley Province, Narok – South District, Mara Division, Koyiaki Location and Talek Sub-Location.
2008: 5-day training program in 113 communes working with PHA in Ha Giang Province.
2009: 5-day training program in 113 communes and 1300 trainees attended in Thanh Hoa Province.
2009: 5-day training program in 126 communes in Ha Giang Province
2009: Binh Phuoc Provincial Health Authority requested a reproductive health training program to train hamlet medical personnel and TBAs in the need for clean birthing, using 9,000 kits locally made in Hanoi.
2010: Training programs run in 234 communes for 1080 VN/ TBAs trained in Hoa Binh province, using 9,000 kits locally made in Hanoi.
