We are so pleased to feature long term BKFA supporters Sathya Sai International Organisation in our latest BKFA Champions feature. Here’s a Q and A with one of their passionate members Prabaka. This amazing organisation operates across all states and have collectively held 21 Assembly Days assembling 10,200 kits!
Can you tell us how and when you heard about BKFA and what your involvement has been? We heard about BKFA through some of the medical students who are part of the Sathya Sai International Organisation. We have been involved in the Assembly Days every year for the past seven years and we are aiming to assemble a grand total of 3000 this year which we are very excited about!
Why do you support BKFA and what inspires you? Having the opportunity to give women a safe environment to bring life into the Earth is such an important service and is one of the main reasons why we support BKFA. In addition it is an opportunity to bring members of our organisation together for the benefit of others. To know that we can have an impact on lives of mothers and newborns all the way from the other side of the world through a value filled kit is such an inspiration.
What is the best thing about being involved in this cause? It was a pleasant surprise when members came to the Assembly Day – members who we hadn’t seen for a very long time. The thought that they could serve and leave a positive mark on the life of someone they didn’t even know provided that motivation for them to come along to the Assembly Day!
Do you have a memorable moment from your time of supporting BKFA? The satisfaction that you get when you see boxes filled with complete kits – words cannot describe it. This is one of the memorable events at every single birthing kit Assembly Day. In addition to this, it’s the quality time you get to spend with likeminded individuals and at the same time having the opportunity to serve our sisters and young mothers.
Thank you so much Sathya Sai International Organisation!
