2016 marks the 10th anniversary of Birthing Kit Foundation (Australia). To honour this milestone, and to celebrate our achievements we’re setting a challenge. Will you join us?
In September 2006, further to the development of the simple Birthing Kit in 1999 and outstanding success in which kits are produced, packed and sent overseas as part of the Zonta Club of Adelaide Hills initiated Birthing Kit Project, the Birthing Kit Foundation (Australia) was established. It’s hard to believe that in this time, we have distributed over 1.5 million kits to our overseas partners.
We are so proud of our achievements but our work is not done. To mark the occasion of our anniversary, we have set two significant targets. The first is to fundraise for and pack 24,800 kits in one month. The second is to raise $24,800 in donations to help support Birth Attendant and Community Training programs on safe birth practices. Why 24,800? 24,800 is the estimated number of women who will sadly die during the period of one month, from complications related to childbirth or pregnancy.
All Assembly Days held and donations made between August 10 and September 10, will contribute to our target. So, if you’d like to hold an Assembly Day during this time, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org and to make a donation, please click here.
For all fundraising, BKFA recommends www.mycause.com.au. Simply select BKFA as your nominated charity and set up your fundraising page. Thank you in advance for your help in reaching this target!
