Have an End of Year Assembly Day

The majority of Birthing Kits are made in Australia, thanks to the generosity of our supporters who give their time to raise funds and host Assembly Days.

What is an Assembly Day?

An Assembly Day is the gathering together of groups of friends, family or colleagues to assemble Birthing Kits. There are numerous reasons to host one, including birthdays, baby showers, Mother’s Day or anniversary celebrations. Assembly Days are fun, empowering and positive experiences that anyone can get involved in! Our Assembly Day Manual includes everything that you will need to know as a host. I’d like to hold an Assembly Day.  What do I need to do?

First of all, decide how many kits your group is going to make. Each kit requires a donation of $5 which includes all materials in the Birthing Kit, costs associated with assembly, warehousing & freight of kits, and overall program management inclusive of monitoring and evaluation.

The minimum order is 200 kits, meaning $1000 will need to be raised.  Kits are assembled in multiples of 200 and there is no limit on the number of kits available.  Next, set the date and arrange a suitable venue.  You’ll then need to complete the booking form (online and printable versions are available), we ask that you do this at least 8 weeks before your Assembly Day.  Email the form to bookings@bkfa.org.au or post it to PO Box 330, Belair SA 5052. After we’ve received your booking form, we will send you an invoice.  We ask that payment is made at least 4 weeks prior to your Assembly Day, before we send kit materials to you.


We ask that groups raise funds to ensure that the cost of the kits can be covered.  BKFA is a registered partner of and highly recommends www.mycause.com.au for online fundraising.  Here you can set up a page which is linked to Birthing Kit Foundation Australia, then rally up your friends and family for donations in support of your Assembly Day. Funds raised are delivered directly to BKFA and donors receive a tax receipt making this a very simple fundraising option. When will I receive the kit materials?

Supplies are delivered around 4 weeks prior to your Assembly Day and include all materials including soap.

Can I attend an Assembly Day as a volunteer?

Zonta Clubs

If you are from a Zonta Club, then your first priority is to support the Zonta International Service Projects. Each year, a third of all funds raised are allocated to support these projects – they are crucial to the success of Zonta International. To support BKFA, any funds used need to come from the remaining two thirds of club fund raising. We ask Zonta Clubs not to divert funds usually destined for Zonta International to BKFA.
