We hear from On Call Africa, Zambia, one of BKFA’s Field partners.

Sara is a fourth time mum.  Throughout her recent fourth pregnancy, she attended antenatal at Katapazi rural health centre as she has seen the benefits of giving birth at the clinic with all her three other children. Her consistence with antenatal attendance was encouraged as she was also given a birthing kit as part of her preparation for welcoming her fourth child. She gave birth at the Health centre a few days back and the plastic and gloves come in very handy.

Not only was she happy to meet her new-born baby, but she really appreciated the elements in the kit especially the plastic that was used in the process and the scalpel blade that was used to cut the umbilical code. In her words: “I want to thank On Call Africa for the kit I received, it helped me a lot .”

Madrine, the Nurse in charge and midwife at Katapazi, was also grateful for the kits, she found the gloves very important especially in her work and appreciates the other contents in the kit too as she sees so many pregnant women helped.
